So, life here in Vietnam extremely illogical — a bit like talking to diehard Republicans — when you confront them with a concept like it’s against the law of physics for buildings to drop in “freefall” unless demolished, i.e. which disputes their view of reality; they get angry and swear at you. Maybe Vietnam is secretly pro-Bush Republican.
Vietnam1 has become an increasingly, disfunctional society in the twelve years that I have visited Vietnam. In 1994, some of the old men were truly amazing individuals. I also met old women who were easy to laugh with. I truly and deeply enjoyed the people I met in Vietnam; in fact, I “fell in love with” Vietnam and thought about Vietnam every day until I returned almost a year later.
But now, years of total government control, no future dream to live for, FUD3 and “sheepeople” mentality has created a society where the majority of men are alcoholics, cigarette and increasingly drug abusers and the women are addicted to “passive, disapproval and emotional depression”2.
If you want to see what the “One Word Government” wants to turn the USA into, you need to come to Vietnam; it’s already in place here. Totally controlled people; one huge prison.
For over 50 years the people of Vietnam fought for their version of freedom for Vietnam. After the war ended in 1975, I have met people from both the North and South who feel extremely disappointed concerning the condition of the corruption, addiction and total government control of the Vietnamese society now. The dream they fought and died for never happened.
Ho Chi Minh was a strong admirer of Thomas Jefferson and read Jefferson’s writing while he was in the USA. In fact, the Vietnamese Declaration of Independence which he read on Sept 2, 1945 contains the first sentences of the US Declaration of Independence: “All men are created equal. They are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness”.4
I often wonder what Vietnam would be like if Ho Chi Minh had been allowed to live 10-15 years longer.
1. The Democratic Republic of Vietnam has been renamed The Socialist Republic of Vietnam.2. Just what the “One World Government” wants for us “expendables” of the world. When machines can do everything and more of what we can do; why would they want us? Machines don’t need a pension, don’t get sick, don’t eat earth’s resources and don’t procreate uncontrollably.
3. Fear, uncertainty and doubt. People here fear everything; I’m amazed at how little they know about the basic laws of physics, nature, etc.
4. Vietnamese Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson truly believed in a “Democratic Republic” not what’s happening in the USA today lead by fascist neo-CONS.
(I know that this post will push some people’s buttons.)
